A genome-wide means of mapping protein–RNA binding sites in vivo, by high-throughput sequencing of RNA isolated by crosslinking immunoprecipitation (HITS-CLIP), which revealed a large number of Nova–RNA interactions in 3′ untranslated regions, leading to the discovery that Nova regulates alternative polyadenylation in the brain.
CLIP Identifies Nova-Regulated RNA Networks in the Brain
CLIP reveals that Nova coordinately regulates a biologically coherent set of RNAs encoding multiple components of the inhibitory synapse, an observation that may relate to the cause of abnormal motor inhibition in POMA.

High-throughput sequencing of RNAs isolated by crosslinking immunoprecipitation provides a general platform for exploring the specificity and range of miRNA action in vivo, and identifies precise sequences for targeting clinically relevant miRNA–mRNA interactions.

Paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes are incited by a tumor outside the nervous system that produces a characteristic antigen of the nervous System that damages nerve tissue and inhibits growth of the tumor.
An RNA map predicting Nova-dependent splicing regulation

- BiologyNature
- 1 November 2006
A genome-wide map relating the position of a cis-acting element to its regulation by an RNA binding protein reveals that Nova binding to YCAY clusters results in a local and asymmetric action to regulate spliceosome assembly and alternative splicing in neurons.
