Suitable labels for molecular imaging--influence of dye structure and hydrophilicity on the spectroscopic properties of IgG conjugates.
Aiming at the design of highly brilliant NIR emissive optical probes and protein conjugates, the absorption and fluorescence properties of the asymmetric cyanines Dy678, Dy681, Dy682, and Dy676 conjugated to the model antibody IgG are studied to derive general structure-property relationships for suitable NIR fluorescent labels.
Target-specific nanoparticles containing a broad band emissive NIR dye for the sensitive detection and characterization of tumor development.

Aiming at the identification of new fluorescent reporters for targeted optical probes, we assessed the application-relevant features of a novel asymmetric cyanine, DY-681, in comparison to the only…
Controlled Modulation of Serum Protein Binding and Biodistribution of Asymmetric Cyanine Dyes by Variation of the Number of Sulfonate Groups
The results demonstrate the possibility of selectively controlling dye-protein interactions and, thus, biodistribution and excretion pathways via proper choice of the fluorophore's substitution pattern and underlines the importance of structure-property relationships for fluorescent labels.

This work describes an improvement of this method using the integral absorbance of the dye instead of its absorbance at the long wavelength maximum to determine the concentration of the biomolecule-coupled dye.
Micro-cantilevers for optical sensing of biogenic amines
This paper discusses the functionalization of micro-cantilevers in order to bind and sense specific biogenic amines related to meat degradation (cadaverine). The micro-cantilevers were functionalized…
Structural control of dye–protein binding, aggregation and hydrophilicity in a series of asymmetric cyanines
A Framework for a Dynamic Inter-connection of Collaborating Agents with Multi-layered Application Abstraction Based on a Software-Bus System
This paper proposes a framework which allows dynamic allocation and linking of agents to underlying low-level hardware control and its architecture is introduced and an application example is outlined.
A DP based scheme for real-time reconfiguration of solar cell arrays exposed to dynamic changing inhomogeneous illuminations
The overall energy conversion efficiency of solar cell arrays is highly effected by partial shading effects. Especially for solar panel arrays installed in environments which are exposed to…
Distributed coordination of energy-storage capacities in virtual microgrids
An approach for distributed coordinated scheduling of storage capacities is presented and a comparative case-study scenario are presented, to illustrate the concept and show the effect of coordination for prevention of mutual charginy/discharging of storage capacity in a VMG.
