We describe a single-crystal emitter fabrication process compatible with self aligned bipolar transistor architectures. Combined with an epitaxial SiGe base, the single-crystal emitter is shown to provide the high speed and low l/f noise features required for RF and microwave circuit applications.
The paper proposes various circuits which can be used to accurately simulate an unloaded electrical line or cable, and presents the results of tests performed on real and artificial lines.
