A new low-polymer surfactant, poly(propylene oxide)-alpha-stearyldimethylammonium chloride (PPOSA) has been synthesized. It contains a polyglycol main chain and quaternary ammonium branched chains. Investigation of the surface-active properties of PPOSA showed that as a sensitizing and solubilizing reagent for spectrophotometric analysis it possesses some(More)
By the use of stepwise regression method in conjunction with the theory of figures of merit for the multicomponent spectrophotometry, mixtures with known scope of possibly present species can be simultaneously analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. There is no need for the analysis to acquire the spectral data matrix from a series of mixture samples(More)
The spectral resolution into individual components from a set of unknown mixture IR spectra was investigated. The method based on iterative target transformation of factor analysis is developed and used to treat several three-component and two-component mixture systems of amino-acids. The results show that the method proposed in this paper is applicable.
A method is proposed for the determination of copper in white-metal bearing alloys by direct controlled-potential electrolysis with a tantalum cathode at -0.32 V vs. SCE in a sulphate/bisulphate buffered electrolyte (pH 2) with fluoroboric acid and sodium tartrate as masking agents. Only Bi(III) interferes. Any co-deposited Bi can be corrected for by its(More)
AIMS To explore the distribution disciplinarian of alginate on the chalcopyrite concentrate surface during bioleaching. METHODS AND RESULTS The evolution of Sulfobacillus thermosulfidooxidans secreting alginate during bioleaching of chalcopyrite concentrate was investigated through gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and confocal(More)
A selective titrimetric determination of Pb after separation by a modified method of precipitation as its sulphate is proposed. Pb(II), present as the perchlorate, is precipitated by gentle boiling in 3.6M H(2)SO(4) presaturated with PbSO(4) and free from any extraneous anions. The customary time-consuming evaporation to fumes of sulphuric acid is dispensed(More)
A new PVC membrane electrode based on lipophilic (2,9,16,23-tetra-tert-butylphthalocyanine)tin(IV) dichloride which demonstrates excellent selectivity and fast response toward the salicylate ion is described. The membrane electrode displayed a linear response for salicylate in the concentration range 10(-5)-0.1 M and exhibited an antiHofmeister pattern,(More)
It is shown theoretically and experimentally that the reliability of the analytical results obtained by Kalman filtering in multicomponent spectrophotometry can be judged by means of the normalized autocorrelation coefficient (NAC) of the innovation sequence. Variations of the initial values of the concentration vector X(0), the error covariance matrix(More)

Ionophores selectively sensitive to primary amines have been synthesized which display low potentiometric selectivity coefficients for K+, Na+ and NH4+ ions, secondary and tertiary amines as well as quaternary ammonium ions. These ionophores include macrocyclic polyethers with dinaphthyl subunits and azocrown ether with nitrogen donor atoms. The feasibility(More)
