Hydrogen Clathrate Structures in Rare Earth Hydrides at High Pressures: Possible Route to Room-Temperature Superconductivity.
- Feng Peng, Ying Sun, C. Pickard, R. Needs, Qiang Wu, Yanming Ma
- PhysicsPhysical Review Letters
- 8 September 2017
It is found that high-temperature superconductivity is closely associated with H clathrate structures, with large H-derived electronic densities of states at the Fermi level and strong electron-phonon coupling related to the stretching and rocking motions of H atoms within the cages.
Realization of numerical aperture 2.0 using a gallium phosphide solid immersion lens
- Qiang Wu, G. Feke, R. Grober, L. Ghislain
- Physics
- 23 December 1999
We report a study of a gallium phosphide, hemispherical, solid immersion lens through the imaging of 40-nm-diam fluorescent dye balls. A spatial resolution as small as 139 nm has been achieved at a…
Shadow and quasinormal modes of a rotating loop quantum black hole
- C. Liu, Tao Zhu, Anzhong Wang
- PhysicsPhysical Review D
- 1 March 2020
In this paper, we construct an effective rotating loop quantum black hole (LQBH) solution, starting from the spherical symmetric LQBH by applying the Newman-Janis algorithm modified by…
Shock Melting Curve of Iron: A Consensus on the Temperature at the Earth's Inner Core Boundary
The Earth's core consists of iron as the major component. The melting point of iron at the inner core boundary constrains the thermal structure and solidification of the Earth's core. However, the…
Thin accretion disk around a four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black hole
Recently a novel four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (4EGB) theory of gravity was proposed by Glavan and Lin [D. Glavan and C. Lin, Phys. Rev. Lett. 124, 081301 (2020)] which includes a…
Modeling the Sgr A* Black Hole Immersed in a Dark Matter Spike
- S. Nampalliwar, Saurabh Kumar, K. Jusufi, Qiang Wu, M. Jamil, P. Salucci
- Physics
- 23 March 2021
In this paper, we investigate the effects of a dark matter (DM) spike on the neighborhood of Sgr A*, the black hole (BH) in the center of the Milky Way. Our main goal is to investigate whether…
Ab initio calculations of the thermodynamics and phase diagram of zirconium
The finite-temperature density-functional theory and quasiharmonic lattice dynamics are used to calculate the Gibbs free energy and quasiharmonic phonons of the hexagonal-close-packed (hcp) and omega…
Nonadiabatic evolution of primordial perturbations and non-Gaussinity in hybrid approach of loop quantum cosmology
- Qiang Wu, Tao Zhu, Anzhong Wang
- PhysicsPhysical Review D
- 10 September 2018
While loop quantum cosmology (LQC) predicts a robust quantum bounce of the background evolution of a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) spacetime prior to the standard slow-roll inflation, whereby the…

Direct evidence of acceleration from a distance modulus–redshift graph
- Y. Gong, Anzhong Wang, Qiang Wu, Yuan-zhong Zhang
- Physics
- 22 March 2007
The energy conditions give upper bounds on the luminosity distance. We apply these upper bounds to the 192 ESSENCE supernova Ia data to show that the Universe has experienced accelerated expansion.…
