Origin and molecular characteristics of a novel 2013 avian influenza A(H6N1) virus causing human infection in Taiwan.
The phylogenetic analyses showed that all 8 genes of this virus were clustered in the Taiwan lineage, and the closest relative of A/Taiwan/2/2013(H6N1) is A/chicken/ Taiwan/A2837/2013, suggesting the latter might be the precursor of the novel virus.
The Mitochondrial Genomes of Aquila fasciata and Buteo lagopus (Aves, Accipitriformes): Sequence, Structure and Phylogenetic Analyses
The complete mitochondrial sequences of two species of accipitrid birds, namely Aquila fasciata and Buteo lagopus, are determined and phylogenetic analyses indicate that the subfamily Aquilinae and all currently polytypic genera of this subfamily are monophyletic.
Correction: The Mitochondrial Genomes of Aquila fasciata and Buteo lagopus (Aves, Accipitriformes): Sequence, Structure and Phylogenetic Analyses
There is an error in the seventh sentence of the Abstract. It should read: The highest dN/dS was detected for the MT-ATP8 gene (0.29896) among Accipitridae, while the lowest for the MT-CO1 gene…
Complete mitochondrial genome of the ring-necked pheasant, Phasianus colchicus (Galliformes: Phasianidae)
All protein-coding, rRNA, and tRNA genes have more than 99.0% nucleotide sequence similarity with the previously reported individual, except for cox3 and t RNA Pro genes which has more similarity with Phasianus versicolor.
The complete mitochondrial genome of the yellow-browed bunting, Emberiza chrysophrys (Passeriformes: Emberizidae), and phylogenetic relationships within the genus Emberiza
- Q. Ren, Jian Yuan, Baowei Zhang
- BiologyJournal Genetika
- 13 December 2014
Remarkable rate heterogeneity was present in the mitochondrial genome of E. chrysophrys, and the monophyly of Emberiza was established, which is rarely seen in other birds.
Complete mitochondrial genome of the Red-billed Starling, Sturnus sericeus (Aves: Passeriformes): The first representative of the family Sturnidae with a single control region
The complete mitochondrial genome of Sturnus sericeus is 16,823 bp in length, and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two rRNA genes, 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes and a single control region.…
Identification and comparative profiling of gonadal microRNAs in the adult pigeon (Columba livia)
- Lan Jiang, D. Bi, Hengwu Ding, Q. Ren, Ping Wang, X. Kan
- BiologyBritish Poultry Science
- 14 August 2019
The expression profiles of testicular and ovarian miRNA in adult pigeon gonads are presented for the first time, and the findings may contribute to a better understanding of gonadal expression in poultry.
Complete mitochondrial genome of the Blue Eared Pheasant, Crossoptilon auritum (Galliformes: Phasianidae)
Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the genus Crossoptilon was the sister of the genus Lophura, and all tRNA genes have the potential to fold into typical clover-leaf structure.
Complete mitochondrial genome of the Chinese Hwamei Garrulax canorus (Aves: Passeriformes): the first representative of the Leiothrichidae family with a duplicated control region.
The complete mitochondrial genome of G. canorus, a member of the family Leiothrichidae, is sequenced and Conserved sequences in three domains were observed in the two putative control regions, providing basic information for future phylogenetic analyses among species of the order Passeriformes.
Complete mitochondrial genome of a Light-vented Bulbul subspecies, Pycnonotus sinensis hainanus (Passeriformes: Pycnonotidae)
Abstract In this study, we present the complete mitochondrial genome of P. s. hainanus, which is spread over Hainan Island, southern China and northern Vietnam, containing 13 protein-coding genes…
