Data aggregation in wireless sensor networks eliminates redundancy to improve bandwidth utilization and energy-efficiency of sensor nodes. This paper presents a secure energy-efficient data aggregation protocol called ESPDA (Energy-Efficient Secure Pattern based Data Aggregation). Unlike conventional data aggregation techniques, ESPDA prevents the redundant… (More)
Emerging Smart phones are poised to give a whole new dimension to the way we shop, bank, and go about many of our everyday activities. iGrocer is a smart grocery shopping assistant, that re-defines grocery shopping. It is capable of maintaining nutrition profiles of its users. Particularly useful for elders and disabled shoppers, iGrocer can aid and advice… (More)
Histatins are human salivary gland peptides with anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory activities. In this study, we hypothesized that histatin 5 binds to Porphyromonas gingivalis hemagglutinin B (HagB) and attenuates HagB-induced chemokine responses in human myeloid dendritic cells. Histatin 5 bound to immobilized HagB in a surface plasmon resonance (SPR)… (More)
Data aggregation protocols are implemented in resource constrained wireless sensor networks to eliminate redundant data transmission for improving bandwidth utilization and energy-efficiency of sensor nodes. This paper presents a secure differential data aggregation (SDDA) protocol for wireless cluster-based sensor networks. SDDA prevents redundant data… (More)
The personalization of cancer treatments implies the reconsideration of a one-size-fits-all paradigm. This move has spawned increased use of next generation sequencing to understand mutations and copy number aberrations in cancer cells. Initial personalization successes have been primarily driven by drugs targeting one patient-specific oncogene (e.g.,… (More)
A research trial was conducted at in-patient level to compare the efficacy of Sahacharadi taila with that of Nirgundi taila in Saisaveeyavata (Poliomyelitis). Forty cases were selected for the trial and grouped into two at random and treated with Sahacharadi taila and Nirgundi taila respectively. Results in both groups were highly encouraging and… (More)
A solitary skin lesion of juvenile xanthogranuloma appearing at the age of five years is reported.
The problem of leprosy in Greater Bombay, India, is presented. Antileprosy measures carried out in this dense, industrialized, endemic urban area are briefly described. The role of survey of various groups of people in case detection is then highlighted. A retrospective study showing the proportion of industrial workers among new, resident leprosy cases is… (More)
Pangu. is a disease caused by vitiated Vata. It is described among 80 Vata rogas. Sahacaradi yoga of Astanga Hrdaya was adopted for the study. Sixty patients of either sex selected from the Out Patient Department of the Institute were grouped into two at random. One group was put in Sodhana cum Samana and the other in Samana alone. The result in both blocks… (More)
A case of latent syphilis presented with unilateral cataract, which developed most probably as a complication of syphilitic cyclitis which he had during the secondary stage of the disease. Blood VDRL was reactive at 1: 32, but CSF was normal. Aqueous humor and the extracted lens material did not contain any Treponema palfidum.
