- Environmental ScienceApplied and Environmental Microbiology
- 10 September 2010
Analysis of Pearson correlations between environmental factors and abundance of 16S rRNA and hzo genes as determined by fluorescent real-time PCR suggests that the local nitrite concentration is the key regulator of the abundance of anammox bacteria in Jiaozhou Bay sediments.
Molecular data and ecological niche modelling reveal the Pleistocene history of a semi‐aquatic bug (Microvelia douglasi douglasi) in East Asia
- Z. Ye, G. Zhu, Pingping Chen, Danli Zhang, W. Bu
- Environmental ScienceMolecular Ecology
- 1 June 2014
Evidence of mismatch distributions and neutrality tests indicate that a population expansion occurred in the late Pleistocene, and the Bayesian skyline plot revealed an unusual population expansion that likely happened during the cooling transition between LIG and LGM.
Sixteen New Species of Nepomorpha (Heteroptera) Mainly from Sulawesi (Indonesia)

The ocular index is computed as two times the synthlipsis (S) divided by the difference between width of head (D) and synthLipsis, in formula: 2S/(D-S).
Phylogeography of a semi-aquatic bug, Microvelia horvathi (Hemiptera: Veliidae): an evaluation of historical, geographical and ecological factors
- Z. Ye, G. Zhu, J. Damgaard, Xin Chen, Pingping Chen, W. Bu
- BiologyScientific Reports
- 29 February 2016
This study examined the impact of historical, geographical and ecological factors on the intraspecific lineage divergence of invertebrates in a semiaquatic bug, Microvelia horvathi, and found a shallow divergence in mitochondrial data.
Geological effects influence population genetic connectivity more than Pleistocene glaciations in the water strider Metrocoris sichuanensis (Insecta: Hemiptera: Gerridae)

Results implied that narrow endemics harbored relatively low genetic diversity because of small effective population and genetic drift.
Diversification of true water bugs revealed by transcriptome‐based phylogenomics

It is proposed that the crawling legs of Nepidae are secondary or symplesiomorphic characters, which cannot serve as the evidence for the sister group role of Nepoidea to the remaining nepomorphans, and the phylogeny of Nepomorpha and the corresponding implications for character evolution are proposed.
Integrative taxonomy uncovers hidden species diversity in the rheophilic genus Potamometra (Hemiptera: Gerridae)
- Chenguang Zheng, Z. Ye, W. Bu
- Biology
- 1 March 2020
This study integrated molecular and morphological data for delimiting species boundaries and understanding the evolutionary history of the genus Potamometra to emphasize that the combination of molecular sequence data, morphological characters and mitochondrial structural information could improve the accuracy of species delimitation.
