Community composition and structure is only to some degree influenced by microhabitat characteristics, but rather by their general position within the barrage-lake system, i.e., longitudinal distribution and thereby availability of different food resources.
Emergence phenology and microhabitat distribution of aquatic Diptera community at the outlets of barrage lakes: effects of temperature, substrate and current velocity
The goals of this study were to determine emergence patterns and the main ecological factors that influence dipteran family abundance and emergence at barrage lake outlets, and to examine differences in abundance and variations between microhabitats.

Monitoring of recorded sites and adjacent areas, control measures, and possible eradication of all individuals of Heracleum mantegazzianum should be conducted in the following years in order to control and possibly eradicate this invasive alien species.
EMERGENCE OF CADDISFLIES (TRICHOPTERA, INSECTA)
Caddisflies were collected in the Plitvice Lakes NP during 2008 using emergence traps at 3 locations at tufa barriers. A total of 2217 specimens, belonging to 44 species, 27 genera and 12 families…
