Anti-Hyperlipidemic Effects and Potential Mechanisms of Action of the Caffeoylquinic Acid-Rich Pandanus tectorius Fruit Extract in Hamsters Fed a High Fat-Diet
- Xiaopo Zhang, Chongming Wu, Xu-dong Xu
- BiologyPLoS ONE
- 16 April 2013
It is suggested that administration of the PTF-b enriched in CQAs moderates hyperlipidemia and improves the liver lipid profile.
Chlorogenic Acid Protects against Atherosclerosis in ApoE−/− Mice and Promotes Cholesterol Efflux from RAW264.7 Macrophages
- Chongming Wu, H. Luan, Peng Guo
- BiologyPLoS ONE
- 4 September 2014
The results suggest that CGA potently reduces atherosclerosis development in ApoE−/− mice and promotes cholesterol efflux from RAW264.7 macrophages.
Varioxiranols A-G and 19-O-Methyl-22-methoxypre-shamixanthone, PKS and Hybrid PKS-Derived Metabolites from a Sponge-Associated Emericella variecolor Fungus.
- Qi Wu, Chongming Wu, Wenhan Lin
- ChemistryJournal of Natural Products
- 22 September 2015
Real-time quantitative PCR indicated that pre-shamixanthone mediated the reduction of lipid accumulation related to the down-regulation of the expression of the key lipogenic transcriptional factor SREBP-1c and its downstream genes encoding FAS and ACC.

Cordycepin prevents hyperlipidemia in hamsters fed a high-fat diet via activation of AMP-activated protein kinase.
- Peng Guo, Quan Kai, Hai‐bo Zhu
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of Pharmacological Sciences
- 2010
It is found that in male Syrian golden hamsters fed a high-fat diet (HFD), daily administration of cordycepin effectively reduced the accumulation of serum total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and suppressed HFD-associated increases in relative retroperitoneal fat.
