A timetable of embryonic development, and ovarian and uterine changes during pregnancy, in the stripe-faced dunnart, Sminthopsis macroura (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae).
- L. Selwood, P. Woolley
- BiologyJournal of Reproduction and Fertility
- 1991
Major steps in embryonic development were correlated with stages in the development of the corpora lutea, which were maximal in size, and possibly in secretory activity, when the embryos were at the bilaminar blastocyst stage.
Reproduction in Sminthopsis macroura (Marsupialia : Dasyuridae) I. The Female
- P. Woolley
- Biology
- 3 January 1990
A laboratory colony of S. macroura, founded by three females and four males, was maintained over four breeding seasons. Reproductive success was high and four generations were produced before the…
Phylogenetic relationships within Dasyurus (Dasyuromorphia: Dasyuridae): quoll systematics based on molecular evidence and male characteristics
- P. Woolley, C. Krajewski, M. Westerman
- Biology
- 15 February 2015
The first formal description of penis anatomy in the northern quoll (D. hallucatus), documenting it as the only species of Dasyurus lacking an appendage to the penis, is provided, and appears to constitute a morphological synapomorphy for the clade of 5 species that excludes D. hallucinationsatus.
The species of Dasycercus Peters, 1875 (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae)
- P. Woolley
- Biology

The identity of specimens previously referred to D. cristicauda in the W. B. Spencer collection of Museum Victoria has been reassessed and both species found to be represented.

It is suggested that emptying of the stomach (the main site of digesta retention in carnivores) was delayed on the cricket diet, possibly because of longer digestion times as a result of a tougher exoskeleton, and total tract passage times increase among dasyurids as body size increases.
Growth and Development of Pouch Young of the Stripe-faced Dunnart, Sminthopsis macroura (Marsupialia : Dasyuridae), in Captivity
- L. Frigo, P. Woolley
- Biology
- 1997
Preliminary evidence suggests that litters of different sizes may grow at varying rates during Phase II of the suckling period and that growth rate may decline because of regression of the mammary tissue associated with the commencement of weaning.

New records of the Julia Creek dunnart, Sminthopsis douglasi (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae)
- P. Woolley
- Biology
- 1992
The Julia Creek dunnart, Sminthopsis douglasi, previously known from only four specimens, has been found alive and its range in the 'downs country' of north-west Queensland extended.
Predation of the Julia Creek dunnart (Sminthopsis douglasi) and other native fauna by cats and foxes on Mitchell grass downs in Queensland
- G. Mifsud, P. Woolley
- Environmental Science, Biology
- 8 October 2012
Examination of the stomach contents of cats and foxes collected on Mitchell grass downs in north-western Queensland revealed that the diet of cats consists largely of native vertebrate fauna whereas that of foxes is largely carrion and insects.
