Foxp3+ regulatory T cells of psoriasis patients easily differentiate into IL-17A-producing cells and are found in lesional skin.
It is shown that Tregs of patients with severe psoriasis, as compared with those of healthy controls, have an enhanced propensity to differentiate into IL-17A-producing cells on ex vivo stimulation, linked to unexpectedly high RORγt levels and enhanced loss of Foxp3. Expand
Pachyonychia congenita in the absence of other syndrome abnormalities.
Psoriasis and systemic inflammatory diseases: potential mechanistic links between skin disease and co-morbid conditions.
How well-established risk factors for CVD can originate from inflammation in other tissues is discussed, and possible mechanistic links between skin inflammation and increased risks of obesity or metabolic alterations and CVD are considered. Expand
Early onset of action and efficacy of a combination of calcipotriene and betamethasone dipropionate in the treatment of psoriasis.
A combination product of calcipotriene 50 microg/g and betamethasone dipropionate 0.5 mg/g in the new vehicle shows superior efficacy with a more rapid onset of action than the newvehicle containing either constituent alone in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris. Expand
Psoriasis of the nails associated with disability in a large number of patients: results of a recent interview with 1,728 patients.
It is indicated that psoriasis of the nails is a more important individual and social-economic problem than previously assumed and that development of new treatments is needed. Expand
Differential expression of markers for endothelial cells, pericytes, and basal lamina in the microvasculature of tumors and granulation tissue.
For the visualization of the tumor vasculature, antibodies recognizing endothelial markers, especially monoclonal antibodies PAL-E and BMA 120, are preferable to those recognizing pericytes or basal lamina; within the microvasculature of tumors and granulation tissue, a heterogeneity of expression of endothelial and pericyte markers is observed. High expression levels of keratinocyte antimicrobial proteins in psoriasis compared with atopic dermatitis.
It is concluded that psoriatic epidermis expresses high levels of host defense proteins compared with atopic dermatitisEpidermis, and this phenomenon appears to be specific for these proteins. Expand
Fingernail psoriasis reconsidered: a case-control study.
The NAPSI was able to discriminate patients with fingernail psoriasis from healthy control subjects and raises the question of whether leukonychia should remain in the NAP SI. Expand
SKALP/elafin is an inducible proteinase inhibitor in human epidermal keratinocytes.
The induction and processing of SKALP in vivo and in vitro is reported and it is found that in a submerged culture system,SKALP could be induced by fetal calf serum and in cultured cells was found to be dependent on the system used. Expand
Propranolol, a very promising treatment for ulceration in infantile hemangiomas: a study of 20 cases with matched historical controls.
Propranolol reduces the duration of ulceration in IH and seems to be more effective when started in an early phase, and is proposed as the treatment of first choice for ulcerating IH. Expand
