A new gracillariid species from the south-eastern Alps is described that shows differences from its sister species Callisto coffeella in morphology, the barcode region of the cytochrome c oxidase I gene and the nuclear gene histone H3.

The use of DNA barcodes as a tool for identification and species discovery in European gracillariids is explored and high congruence between morphology and barcodes is indicated with 91.3% of European species forming monophyletic clades that can be identified accurately using barcodes alone.

Members of this genetically divergent lineage of a gracillariid belonging to the genus Micrurapteryx were discovered in Siberia, whose larvae developed on Caragana Fabr.
Systematics, phylogeny and biology of a new genus of Lithocolletinae (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) associated with Cistaceae.
The molecular analysis of eleven nuclear genes failed to unambiguously place Triberta in the lithocolletine phylogeny, but revealed that this genus is distinct from either clade Phyllonorycter + Cremastobombycia and Cameraria, and is restored from synonymy based on morphological characters.
