The levels of HNP 1-3 were significantly increased in the peritoneal fluid of endometriosis patients, compared with control women, and correlated with severity of the disease.
A relationship between increased peritoneal leptin levels and infertility in endometriosis
The results revealed that the levels of peritoneal-fluid leptin did not correlate with different stage of endometriosis, however, they correlated with body mass index, which may suggest that increased leptin levels in theperitoneal fluid may play a role in pathogenesis of infertility.
