The ionic effects of NaCl on physiology and gene expression in rice genotypes differing in salt tolerance
TLDR
Investigating the effects of ionic stress on the physiology and gene expression of two rice genotypes found root growth of IR15324 was much more sensitive to salt than that of IR4630, and three AFLP-bands have a high-degree of sequence similarity with the genes encoding a proline rich protein, senescence associated protein and heat-shock protein.
Ameliorative Effects of a Static Magnetic Field on Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis L.) Growth and Phytochemical Traits Under Water Stress
TLDR
The positive effect of magnetopriming (200 mT) on improvement of drought tolerance in H. officinalis is illustrated through protection of cellular membrane integrity, maintenance of photosynthetic pigment content, and alternation of antioxidant enzyme activities.
A Novel Protocol for Stevia Rebaudiana (Bert.) Regeneration
Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni has sweet substances (stevioside) in its leaves that are free of calories and their consumption is beneficial for diabetic patients and is also helpful in high blood
Analysis of oilseed of Halophytic species: Atriplex griffithii, Haloxylon ammodendron, Salicornia europaea, Salsola yazdiana
Seeds of Atriplex griffithii, Haloxylon ammodendron, Salicornia europaea and Salsola yazdiana were analyzed to determine their potential as sources of edible oil. The quantity of total oil varied
Evaluating Foliar Application of Calcium Nitrate, Calcium Chloride and Boric Acid on Physiological Disorders of ‘Kaleh - Ghoochi’ Pistachio
Pistachio suffers from some physiological disorders such as fruit abscission, endocarp lesion, blankness, non-split, early-split and deformed nuts. In this experiment, the effects of calcium nitrate
Magnetic field effects on total phenolic content and antioxidant activity in Artemisia sieberi under salinity
Artemisia species have a well-known position in traditional medicine. In the present study, variability in total phenolic concentration and radical-scavenging activity by employing various in vitro
Alternation of Growth, Phenolic Content, Antioxidant Enzymes and Capacity by Magnetic Field in Hyssopus officinalis under Water Deficit
In the present study, the effect of seed priming with magnetic field (MF; 45, 90, 200 and 250mT for 5, 10, 20 and 30 min) was evaluated in 60-day-old Hyssopus officinalis plants grownunder 8 days
Xylem sap analysis reveals new facts of salt tolerance in rice genotypes
Danos por salinidade em arroz e em outras especies sensiveis ao estresse salino sao devidos ao transporte excessivo de NaCl, desde o sistema radicular ate as folhas; assim, baixo transporte de sais
Effects of Magnetic Field on Growth and Antioxidant Capacity of Artemisia aucheri in Normal or Saline Conditions
In the present study, changes of total phenolic concentration and radical-scavenging activity were evaluated in the shoots of Artemisia aucheri -a medicinal plantthat had been exposed as seeds to
Salicylic acid improves tolerance against salt stress through boosting antioxidant defense system in black bean.
To evaluate the effect of salicylic acid (SA) on seed germination of black bean plant under saline conditions, seeds were primed with salicylic acid (0, 2, 10, and 20 mM) and germinated under salt
