Pathophysiologic Observations and Histopathologic Recognition of the Portal Hyperperfusion or Small-for-Size Syndrome
- A. Demetris, D. Kelly, A. Marcos
- MedicineAmerican Journal of Surgical Pathology
- 1 August 2006
It is suggested that portal hyperperfusion, venous pathology, and the arterial buffer response importantly contribute to early and late clinical and histopathologic manifestations of the small-for-size syndrome.
Sonographic Assessment of Spleen Stiffness Before and After Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Placement With or Without Concurrent Embolization of Portal Systemic Collateral Veins in…

Quantitative accuracy of 90Y bremsstrahlung imaging can be substantially improved with MC scatter modeling without significant degradation in image noise or intensive computational requirements.
Inferior vena cava filter placement before ECMO decannulation.
- A. Obi, P. Park, L. Napolitano
- Medicine, BiologyASAIO journal ()
- 1 November 2012
A simple method for guidewire exchange of the femoral venous ECMO cannula to a working catheter for intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) IVC filter placement is developed.
A closer look at the ventriculo-gallbladder shunt for the treatment of hydrocephalus.
- P. Novelli, D. Reigel
- MedicinePediatric Neurosurgery
- 1997
Six patients with hydrocephalus who were treated with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunts became refractory to serosal absorption of CSF and were subsequently treated with ventriculo-gallbladder shunts, and detailed evaluation of 1 of the 6 has suggested a dynamic role for the gallbladder in the function of ventricular shunts.
Multiple cavernous angiomas after high-dose whole-brain radiation therapy.
- P. Novelli, D. Reigel, P. Langham Gleason, E. Yunis
- MedicinePediatric Neurosurgery
- 1997
A possible association between acquired intracranial vascular malformations and long-term survivors after craniospinal external beam radiation therapy is suggested indicating that greater understanding of the cerebral vascular system's response to injury may provide insight into the evolution and progression of these lesions.
