The role of DNA shape in protein-DNA recognition
These findings indicate that the ability to detect local variations in DNA shape and electrostatic potential is a general mechanism that enables proteins to use information in the minor groove, which otherwise offers few opportunities for the formation of base-specific hydrogen bonds, to achieve DNA-binding specificity.
CX3CR1 Deficiency Impairs Dendritic Cell Accumulation in Arterial Intima and Reduces Atherosclerotic Burden

The accumulation of intimal DC increases in aged and ApoE−/− aortas and correlates with the generation of atherosclerosis, which impairs the accumulation of DC in the aortic wall and markedly reduces the atherosclerotic burden.
miR-34a, a microRNA up-regulated in a double transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer's disease, inhibits bcl2 translation
It is shown that the expression of miR-34a is inversely correlated with the protein level of bcl2 in APPswe/PSDeltaE9 mice and age-matched controls, and miR -34a expression directly inhibits bCl2 translation in SH-SY5Y cells.
Nitric oxide modulates the influx of extracellular Ca2+ and actin filament organization during cell wall construction in Pinus bungeana pollen tubes.
No affects the configuration and distribution of cell wall components in pollen tubes by altering extracellular Ca(2+) influx and F-actin organization and Fourier transform infrared microspectroscopy confirmed the changes in the chemical composition of walls.
miR-185 Suppresses Tumor Proliferation by Directly Targeting E2F6 and DNMT1 and Indirectly Upregulating BRCA1 in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
- Hailin Tang, P. Liu, +7 authors Xiaoming Xie

It is found that miR-185 was strongly downregulated in TNBC tissues and cell lines and that its expression levels were associated with lymph node metastasis, clinical stage, overall survival, and relapse-free survival in T NBC.
miR-26a suppresses tumour proliferation and metastasis by targeting metadherin in triple negative breast cancer.
The data suggest that miR-26a functions as a tumour suppressor in TNBC development and serves as a prognostic marker for breast cancer.
Metabolic reprogramming by PCK1 promotes TCA cataplerosis, oxidative stress and apoptosis in liver cancer cells and suppresses hepatocellular carcinoma
The data reveal that PCK1 is detrimental to malignant hepatocytes and suggest activating PCK2 expression as a potential treatment strategy for patients with HCC and shows that the pro-apoptotic effect ofPCK1 requires its catalytic activity.
A map of minor groove shape and electrostatic potential from hydroxyl radical cleavage patterns of DNA.

These maps of DNA shape and electrostatic potential are introduced as tools for understanding how proteins recognize binding sites in a genome and reveal periodic structural signals in yeast and Drosophila genomic DNA sequences that are associated with positioned nucleosomes.
miR-22 as a prognostic factor targets glucose transporter protein type 1 in breast cancer.
The data suggest that miR-22 functions as a tumor suppressor and is a promising prognostic biomarker in breast cancer.
Catalpol inhibits LPS plus IFN-γ-induced inflammatory response in astrocytes primary cultures.

It is suggested that catalpol can exert inhibitory effects on the inflammatory reaction in astrocytes and that inactivation of NF-κB could be the major determinant for its anti-inflammatory mechanism.
