The mutations of KCNMA1 BK‐type K+ channel have been identified in patients with various movement disorders. The underlying pathophysiology and corresponding therapeutics are lacking.
Weak values in continuous weak measurement of qubits
For continuous weak measurement of qubits, we obtain exact expressions for weak values (WVs) from the post-selection restricted average of measurement outputs, by using both the quantumtrajectory-…
Condensed matter physics in time crystals
- Lingzhen Guo, P. Liang
- PhysicsNew Journal of Physics
- 6 May 2020
Time crystals are physical systems whose time translation symmetry is spontaneously broken. Although the spontaneous breaking of continuous time-translation symmetry in static systems is proved…
Floquet many-body engineering: topology and many-body physics in phase space lattices
- P. Liang, M. Marthaler, Lingzhen Guo
- Physics
- 26 October 2017
Hamiltonians which are inaccessible in static systems can be engineered in periodically driven many-body systems, i.e., Floquet many-body systems. We propose to use interacting particles in a…
Molecular underpinning of intracellular pH regulation on TMEM16F
- P. Liang, Huanghe Yang
- BiologybioRxiv
- 16 June 2020
It is reported that TMEM16F lipid scrambling and ion channel activities are strongly influenced by intracellular pH (pHi), and it is found that low pHi attenuates whereas high pHi potentiates TMEM 16F activation.
Gating and Regulatory Mechanisms of TMEM16 Ion Channels and Scramblases
- S. Le, P. Liang, A. Lowry, Huanghe Yang
- Biology, MedicineFrontiers in Physiology
- 19 November 2021
Major structural features of the TMEM16 proteins are summarized with a focus on regulatory mechanisms and gating and biophysical characterizations over the past decade are summarized.
Exact quantum Bayesian rule for qubit measurements in circuit QED
This work presents a rigorous and analytic solution for the effective quantum trajectory equation (QTE) after polaron transformation and converted to the form of Stratonovich calculus, and finds that the solution is a generalization of the elegant quantum Bayesian approach developed in arXiv:1111.4016.
Reducing ischemic kidney injury through application of a synchronization modulation electric field to maintain Na+/K+-ATPase functions
- Wei Chen, Lei Wang, Ruisheng Liu
- Biology, MedicineScience Translational Medicine
- 9 March 2022
In mouse models of warm and cold ischemia, the technique decreased kidney injury and improved function, and application of the technique to human kidneys during cold storage decreased histological evidence of injury, suggesting that the approach might be useful in minimizing allograft dysfunction.
Evidence that polyphenols do not inhibit the phospholipid scramblase TMEM16F
- Trieu Le, S. Le, Yang Zhang, P. Liang, Huanghe Yang
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of Biological Chemistry

It is found that TA and EGCG mainly acted as fluorescence quenchers that rapidly suppress the fluorophores conjugated to annexin V, a phosphatidylserine-binding probe commonly used to report on TMEM16 CaPLSase activity.
Time crystals in the driven transverse field Ising model under quasiperiodic modulation
We investigate the transverse field Ising model subject to a two-step periodic driving protocol and quasiperiodic modulation of the Ising couplings. Analytical results on the phase boundaries…
