- Guohui Zhou, Jin-jun Wen, DeJiang Cai, P. Li, Donglin Xu, Shuguang Zhang
- Biology
- 28 November 2008
It is proposed that this dwarf disease observed on rice in southern China be considered as a new species, Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus, in the group 2 of the genus Fijivirus in the family Reoviridae.
Genome-Wide Evolutionary Characterization and Expression Analyses of WRKY Family Genes in Brachypodium distachyon
- Feng Wen, Hong Zhu, Zhaoqing Chu
- BiologyDNA Research
- 21 January 2014
Investigation of WRKY family genes in Brachypodium distachyon suggested that BdWRKY domains are evolutionarily more closely related to O. sativa WRKY domains than those of A. thaliana, and there was a strong correlation between promoter cis-elements and the phytohormones-induced Bd WRKY gene expression.
Genetic control of bud phenology in pole-size trees and seedlings of coastal Douglas-fir
The extent to which bud phenology is genetically controlled and related to growth traits was examined in seedlings and pole-size trees of coastal Douglas-fir (Pseudotsugamenziesii var. menziesii) and found it to be connected with growth traits.
Clofazimine Analogs with Efficacy against Experimental Tuberculosis and Reduced Potential for Accumulation
- Yu Lu, M. Zheng, Zhenkun Ma
- Biology, MedicineAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
- 15 August 2011
Nine of the new riminophenazine analogs demonstrated inhibition of bacterial growth in the lungs that is superior to the activity of an equivalent dose of clofazimine when administered orally for 20 days in a murine model of acute tuberculosis.
Genome-wide identification and evolutionary analyses of the PP2C gene family with their expression profiling in response to multiple stresses in Brachypodium distachyon
- Jianmei Cao, Min Jiang, P. Li, Zhaoqing Chu
- BiologyBMC Genomics
- 3 March 2016
A comprehensive analysis of genome-wide identification and characterization of protein domains, phylogenetic relationship, gene and protein structure, chromosome location and expression pattern of the PP2C gene family was carried out for the first time in a new model monocot, i.e., B. distachyon.
Genome-wide exploration of the molecular evolution and regulatory network of mitogen-activated protein kinase cascades upon multiple stresses in Brachypodium distachyon
- Min Jiang, Feng Wen, Jianmei Cao, P. Li, J. She, Zhaoqing Chu
- BiologyBMC Genomics
- 24 March 2015
A regulation network based on co-expression patterns of the expression profiles upon multiple stresses performed in this study is constructed and revealed that BdMAPK cascade kinases were rapidly regulated by stresses and phytohormones.
Multivalent avimer proteins evolved by exon shuffling of a family of human receptor domains
- J. Silverman, Q. Lu, W. Stemmer
- BiologyNature Biotechnology
- 2005
An avimer that inhibits interleukin 6 with 0.8 pM IC50 in cell-based assays is biologically active in two animal models and potential advantages over immunoglobulin domains include simple and efficient production of multitarget-specific molecules in Escherichia coli, improved thermostability and resistance to proteases.
OsNAC2 integrates auxin and cytokinin pathways to modulate rice root development
- C. Mao, Jianmei He, F. Ming
- Environmental SciencePlant Biotechnology Journal
- 7 August 2019
It is described that OsNAC2 functions as an upstream integrator of auxin and cytokinin signals that affect CRL and CDK production to regulate cell division during root development.

Effect of Curcumin Supplement in Summer Diet on Blood Metabolites, Antioxidant Status, Immune Response, and Testicular Gene Expression in Hu Sheep
- Zhiyang Jiang, Y. Wan, D. Mao
- Biology, MedicineAnimals
- 24 September 2019
Dietary curcumin supplementation can promote lipid metabolism, antioxidant capacity, and immune response, as well as testicular development, in Hu sheep, which provides evidence for the protective role ofCurcumin against heat stress in sheep.
