Gases and electrolytes of human follicular fluid.
- R. Shalgi, P. Kraicer, N. Soferman
- Biology, MedicineJournal of Reproduction and Fertility
- 1 March 1972
It is concluded that culture media based on 'physiological' saline solutions are appropriate for culture of oocytes because they had a more acid pH than blood plasma.
Intrauterine signaling and embryonic implantation.
- U. Barkai, P. Kraicer
- Biology, MedicineBiological signals
- 1 March 1996
This review treats the mechanisms which have been evoked to explain the implantation of the egg and the decidualization of the implanting endometrium, and investigates the role of the epithelium in this response.
Studies on the metabolic role of myo-inositol. Distribution of radioactive myo-inositol in the male rat.
- L. Lewin, Y. Yannai, S. Sulimovici, P. Kraicer
- BiologyBiochemical Journal
- 15 May 1976
The radioactive material present in liver, spleen, brain, heart, diaphragm, seminal vesicle, coagulating gland, prostate, epididymis, vas deferens and testis was shown to consist exclusively of myo-inositol and its derivatives, as shown by paper chromatography of hydrolysates and trichloroacetic acid extracts of these tissues.
Effect of elevated calcium concentration on fertilization of rat oocytes in vitro
- R. Kaplan, P. Kraicer
- Biology
- 1978
The results suggest that it may also affect the oocyte, and a modification of the medium of Toyoda and Chang which would permit high rates of fertilization in vitro in rats of the authors' colony was developed.
Periovulatory expression of cholesterol side-chain cleavage cytochrome P-450 in cumulus cells.
- D. Goldschmit, P. Kraicer, J. Orly
- BiologyEndocrinology
- 1989
The findings suggest the presence of a putative intraovarian suppressive factor which disappears before ovulation and thus render(s) the cumulus cells permissive for P-450scc responsiveness.
Maturational effects of gonadotropins on the cumulus-oocyte complex of the rat.
- N. Dekel, T. Hillensjö, P. Kraicer
- BiologyBiology of Reproduction
- 1 March 1979
Cumulus maturation is induced by the ovulatory surge of LH, and small differences were attributed to differences in circulating levels of gonadotropin as a function of time.
A new and simple method of measuring menstrual blood loss.
- P. Vasilenko, P. Kraicer, R. Kaplan, A. Demasi, N. Freed
- MedicineJournal of reproductive medicine
- 1 March 1988
A new and simple procedure for measuring blood on sanitary materials is developed, a modification of previous alkaline hematin methods but overcomes some of their major drawbacks, and can be used to assess both functional and dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
Inhibition of decidual induction in rats by clomiphene and tamoxifen.
- U. Barkai, T. Kidron, P. Kraicer
- Biology, MedicineBiology of Reproduction
- 1 April 1992
The objective of this study was to characterize the estrogen action that confers endometrial sensitization to nontraumatic deciduogenic stimuli by use of antiestrogens by administering tamoxifen, ethamoxytriphetol, and clomiphene and its two component enantiomers to pseudopregnant rats.
Cryopreservation of rat blastocysts: a comparative study of different cryoprotectants and freezing/thawing methods.
- A. Stein, B. Fisch, Y. Tadir, J. Ovadia, P. Kraicer
- BiologyCryobiology
- 1 April 1993
The best method for preservation of rat blastocysts proved to be programmed cooling to -80 degrees C followed by fast thawing with glycerol as cryoprotectant (embryonic survival of 28.1%), and the proportion of embryos with good to excellent preservation of morphology was high.
