Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA Growth and Biofilm Formation after Treatment with Antibiotics and SeNPs
- Kristýna Číhalová, Dagmar Chudobová, R. Kizek
- Biology, MedicineInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
- 1 October 2015
The obtained results provide a basis for the use of SeNPs as a tool for the treatment of bacterial infections, which can be complicated because of increasing resistance of bacteria to conventional ATB drugs.
3D‐printed chip for detection of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus labeled with gold nanoparticles
- Dagmar Chudobová, Kristýna Číhalová, R. Kizek
- BiologyElectrophoresis
- 1 February 2015
The aim of this study was to design an effective platform for DNA isolation from different species of microorganisms as well as the amplification of mecA gene that encodes the resistance to β‐lactam antibiotic formation and is contained in MRSA.
Paramagnetic particles coupled with an automated flow injection analysis as a tool for influenza viral protein detection
- Ludmila Krejcova, Dana Dospivová, R. Kizek
- BiologyElectrophoresis
- 1 November 2012
The flow‐injection analysis‐based biosensor, which can rapidly and economically analyze a wide panel of influenza virus strains by using paramagnetic particles modified with glycan, can selectively bind to specific viral A/H5N1/Vietnam/1203/2004 protein‐labeled quantum dots.

Fullerene as a transporter for doxorubicin investigated by analytical methods and in vivo imaging
- I. Blažková, Hoa Viet Nguyen, R. Kizek
- Biology, ChemistryElectrophoresis
- 1 April 2014
The fullerene (C60) surface was oxidized by concentrated nitric acid, which enabled simple DOX–fullerene conjugation based on π–π stacking and hydrophilic interactions with carboxylic groups to help to balance severe negative side effects of these cytostatics.
Zinc phosphate-based nanoparticles as alternatives to zinc oxide in diet of weaned piglets
- Silvia Kociova, Kristyna Dolezelikova, Kristyna Smerkova
- Chemistry, MedicineJournal of Animal Science and Biotechnology
- 9 June 2020
It is indicated that ZnA NPs have a positive effect on the piglet growth performance even at the lowest concentration, and may be an effective alternative to ZnO.
