The present study extends knowledge on the composition of the trematode fauna in Slovakia as all species except S. falconis and P. elegans that represent new host and species records in Slovakia are extended.

The most frequent helminth species infecting diurnal birds of prey was Strigea falconis, and the acanthocephalan Centrorhynchus aluconis was identified in four different host species of the Strigiformes order.

Histological and molecular methods confirmed the presence of T. pseudospiralis in raptorial, carrion-feeding, and scavenging birds in Sweden and Slovakia, where the parasite has been previously documented in wildlife.

Three species of thorny-headed worms of the genus Centrorhynchus were found to parasitize birds of prey and owls in the territory of the Slovakia during the years 2012–2014, with the latest, relatively rare acanthocephalan found alone in two common kestrels F. aluco represent new host records for Slovakia.
