New empirical relationships between magnitude and distance for liquefaction
Historical research performed in the 1990s has updated previous compilations of liquefaction-induced phenomena that occurred during the last millenium in Italy. Liquefaction indications are reportedExpand
Active Tectonics in the Central Apennines (Italy) – Input Data for Seismic Hazard Assessment
Quaternary tectonics and paleoseismologicalinvestigations have defined a reliable framework ofactive faults in the southern Umbria and AbruzziApennines. Two sets of NW–SE to NNW–SSE trending, 16to 33Expand
The Holocene paleoearthquakes on the 1915 Avezzano earthquake faults (central Italy): implications for active tectonics in the central Apennines
Abstract Extensive paleoseismological research was conducted in the Fucino Plain (central Italy) in order to better understand the seismogenic characteristics of the fault responsible for the 1915Expand
Preliminary investigation on the environmental occurrence and effects of antibiotics used in aquaculture in Italy.
The results of the present study indicate flumequine and oxytetracycline as priority chemicals to be monitored for possible environmental side effects of aquaculture in Italy. Expand
Paleoseismology of silent faults in the Central Apennines (Italy): the Mt. Vettore and Laga Mts. faults
Paleoseismological analyses have been performed in the Central Apennines along faults showing geomorphological evidence of Late Quaternary activity and characterised by the absence of historicalExpand
Twenty years of paleoseismology in Italy
Abstract Italy has one of the most complete and historically extensive seismic catalogues in the World due to a unique and uninterrupted flow of written sources that have narrated its seismic historyExpand
The MCS macroseismic survey of the Emilia 2012 earthquakes
Most of the inhabitants of northern Italy were woken up during the night of May 20, 2012, by the Mw 6.1 earthquake [QRCMT 2012] that occurred in the eastern Po Plain. The mainshock was preceded a fewExpand
Additions to the annotated list of marine alien biota in the mediterranean with special emphasis on foraminifera and parasites
This update of the annotated list based on literature up to April 2008 yields a further 175 alien species in the Mediterranean bringing the total to 903, and approximately 100 more species have become well established in the region, raising the number of established species to 496 versus 385 until 2005. Debating phylogenetic relationships of the scleractinian Psammocora: molecular and morphological evidences
The results show that neither Psammocora nor Coscinaraea are monophyletic genera, and the high genetic distances between the species of Siderastreidae, especially between Pseudosiderastrea tayamai and SiderASTrea savignyana on one side and the other genera on the other, suggest a deep divergence in the phylogenetic structure of the family.
