Sabellaria wilsoni sp.n. (Polychaeta, Sabellariidae) from the southeast coast of Brazil
A new species of Sabellaria is described from the southeast coast of Brazil and compared with related species known from South or North America.

Generalized Linear Model analyses showed that polydorid boring is indeed positively correlated with the abundance of serpulids and crustose coralline alga and it was hypothesized that early or previous calcareous growth would favour larval settlement and boring by polydorids.

A critical overview of the available taxonomic information on marine and estuarine oligochaetes from Brazil is presented, finding that only 13 of the 600 described species are currently known from Brazil, and 8 exclusively from their type locations.

Morphology and habitat preferences of P. gabriellae and S. pussicus are consistent with other Saccocirridae species from the ‘Pharyngocirrus’ and ‘Saccoc Kirridae’ genera, respectively.
