Phylogenetic analyses of the combined plastid data revealed that the Indian Capparis are more closely related to Old World taxa and have connections with African, Australian and Eastern Asian species.
Cytogenetic Studies in Indian Drimia Jacq. (Urgineoideae: Hyacinthaceae)
- M. Lekhak, P. B. Yadav, S. Yadav
- Biology
- 2017
Crossability studies in Indian Drimia show that D. nagarjunae and D. wightii are reproductively isolated from the rest of the species, while other species show varying degree of crossability indicating their genetic proximity.

A cyto-palynological study of four species of Convolvulaceae from the northern Western Ghats of India finds that Ipomoea clarkei and Operculina tansaensis are endemic to the region, whereas I. diversifolia and O. turpethum show wide distribution.
Cytogenetics of two endemic Barleria species (Acanthaceae) from the northern Western Ghats (India)

- Biology
- 29 March 2016
Chromosome studies have been carried out on two endemic species of the northern Western Ghats, India and it is suggested that further linear differentiation of chromosomes and better understanding of karyotype evolution in Barleria should be possible using banding techniques and fluorescence in situ hybridization approaches.
