An isocratic, reversed-phase liquid chromatographic (RPLC) method was developed for the quantitative determination of Rivastigmine hydrogen tartrate, a cholinesterase inhibitor in bulk drugs and in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The developed method is also applicable for the related substance determination of Rivastigmine hydrogen tartrate in bulk drugs. The(More)
A series of thiophene [3,2-b] pyrrole derivatives were synthesized and evaluated their abilities to inhibit anti-inflammatory activity. In this series, substituent effects at the N-1, 2 and 5 positions of thiophene [3,2-b] pyrrole were examined. The results obtained are compared to those previously reported anti-inflammatory drugs like Tenidap sodium,(More)
A new, accurate and reliable chiral HPLC method was developed for the determination of Zolmitriptan, (4S)-4-[[3-[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]-1H-indol-5-yl] methyl]-2-oxazolidinone an antimigraine agent and its potential impurities namely (4R)-4-[[3-[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]-1H-indol-5-yl] methyl]-2-oxazolidinone [(R)-enantiomer] and(More)
A new and accurate chiral liquid chromatographic method was described for the enantiomeric separation of ZTR-5 [(4S)-4-(4-aminobenzyl)-2-oxazolidinone, (S)-isomer], a key intermediate of Zolmitriptan in bulk drugs. The enantiomers of ZTR-5 were baseline resolved on a Chiralpak AD-H (250 mm x 4.6 mm, 5 microm) column using a mobile phase system containing(More)
The first successful Pd/C-mediated Sonogashira coupling of iodothiophene with terminal alkynes in water is described here. Pd/C-CuI-PPh(3) was found to be an efficient catalyst system for this coupling reaction. Using this economic and reliable process a variety of acetylenic thiophenes with a wide range of functional groups were prepared in good yields.(More)
Left ventricular myxoma are quite rare and have not been reported in children. We report a left ventricular myxoma arising from interventricular septum in a 12-year-old girl who presented with history of single episode of syncope while playing in school. General examination of the child did not reveal any abnormality except a grade II/VI systolic murmur in(More)
A dually NHC-catalyzed reaction cascade comprising an initial hydroacylation of an activated ketone and subsequent Sonogashira/Heck/Suzuki coupling in the same pot is reported. The reaction mechanism and scope of the methodology is presented.
BACKGROUND Changes in salivary flow rate were studied in head and neck (H and N) cancer patients who, after receiving moderately accelerated radiotherapy (RT) and concurrent chemotherapy (CT), were free of disease at 1 year. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between July 2003 and July 2005, saliva estimation was performed for 36 patients of locally advanced (AJCC(More)
