Measurements of the Fermilab Main Injector dipoles using a partially redundant system of integrated and point measurements were carried out for quality assurance. Additional special measurements studied the hysteretic field strength. Results from these measurements are presented.

Both the proton and antiproton bunches which will collide in the Tevatron have longitudinal emittance greater than can be accelerated by the Main Ring from 8 GeV without large loss and emittance growth. As installation of the Energy Saver progresses, completed sections of the ring are operated to test subsystems and their interactions. This paper describes the power and quench protection tests in the 1/8 ring operation (3/4 of A sector) completed in June, 1982, and in the more recent 1/3 ring operation of E and F sectors.
