A preliminary quantitative analysis of couples' experiences with the new female condom, Femidom, suggests that the acceptability of this method improves with duration of use. Peritoneal oocyte and sperm transfer (POST) was performed under ultrasound guidance and local anesthesia by the transabdominovesical route for a patient with unexplained infertility. This resulted in an intrauterine pregnancy confirmed by a raised β-human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) level and an ultrasound scan.
A case of posttraumatic stress disorder is described in which a favorable response to the anticonvulsants carbemazepine and sodium valproate occurred. The literature on the use of anticonvulsants in this disorder is reviewed.
