Xiaobuxin-Tang (XBXT), a traditional Chinese herbal decoction, has been used for the treatment of depressive disorders for centuries in China. Herein, we explored the antidepressant-like effect and its monoaminergic mechanism of the total flavonoids (XBXT-2) isolated from the extract of XBXT. In present study, single XBXT-2 (25, 50, 100 mg/kg, p.o.)(More)
Xiaobuxin-Tang (XBXT), a traditional Chinese herbal decoction, has been used for the treatment of depressive disorders for centuries in China. Our previous studies have demonstrated that the total flavonoids (XBXT-2) isolated from the extract of XBXT reversed behavioral alterations and serotonergic dysfunctions in chronically stressed rats. Recently,(More)
Initial investigation for new active herbal extract with inhibiting activity on JAK/STAT signaling pathway revealed that the extract of Caulis Trachelospermi, which was separated by 80% alcohol extraction and subsequent HP-20 macroporous resin column chromatography, was founded to strongly inhibit IFN-γ-induced STAT1-responsive luciferase activity(More)
Our previous studies have demonstrated that the total flavonoids (XBXT-2) isolated from the extract of Xiaobuxin-Tang (XBXT), a traditional Chinese herbal decoction, ameliorated behavioral alterations and hippocampal dysfunctions in chronically stressed rats. Studies over the last decades have suggested that the hyperactivity of(More)
BACKGROUND Xiaobuxin-Tang, a traditional Chinese herbal prescription recorded in a silk scroll unearthed from Mogao Caves of Dunhuang has been indicated that it can remit depressive disorder. The present study was designed to investigate its antidepressant effects in various animal depression models. METHODS Xiaobuxin-Tang was extracted by 70% alcohol,(More)
A new cytotoxic macrocyclic trichothecene calcarisporin B1 (1), and two known compounds roridin H (2) and roridin J (3) were isolated from the cultured mycelia of Calcarisporium arbuscula Preuss. The structure of 1 was determined to be 8alpha-acetoxy roridin H on the basis of spectral data. The cytotoxic activities of 1-3 were evaluated in vitro.
Angelica polymorpha Maxim. is a plant of the Angelica genus (Umbelliferae). The root and stem of this plant is a folk medicine known to have the actions of relieving rheumatism and cold and subsiding swelling and pains. To investigate the chemical constituents in the root of A. polymorpha Maxim., seven compounds were isolated from an 80% ethanol extract by(More)
OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of the bark of Paeonia suffruticosa. METHOD The 95% ethanol extract was re-extracted with EtOAc, and then separated and purified by column chromatography using silica gel, Sephadex LH -20 and RP-18 as packing materials. The structures were identified on the basis of spectral analysis and physico-chemical(More)
Nineteen secolignans (1-19), including five new ones (1-5), were isolated from the whole plant of Peperomia dindygulensis. Their structures including stereochemistry were determined by spectroscopic methods, in particular NMR and electronic CD (ECD) analysis. All the isolates were evaluated for their inhibitory activities against IFN-γ/STAT1 as well as(More)
