Two new species of the genus Apocuma are described and illustrated and the distribution of this genus in the Atlantic Ocean is substantially extended based mainly on an unpublished database compiled by the late Norman S. Jones.

Diastylis sexpectinata is a new species of cumacean that extends from São Paulo State (Brazil) to northern Patagonia (Argentina) and its synonymy with Diastyl is hammoniae is proposed.

The adult male of Diastylis geocostae is described for the first time, the adult female briefly redescribed, and its distribution, up to now known from the type locality only (Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro State), is extended to off Rawson, Argentina.

Based on a large number of well-preserved specimens now available from the type locality area, the description of this common euryhaline species is completed and its range of distribution as far north as Sao Paulo is extended.
