Anthraquinone derivative emodin inhibits tumor-associated angiogenesis through inhibition of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 phosphorylation.
It is suggested that emodin has the potential to inhibit several angiogenic processes and that these effects may be related to suppression of the phosphorylation of ERK 1/2.
Histological and immunohistochemical observations of mucin‐depleted foci (MDF) stained with Alcian blue, in rat colon carcinogenesis induced with 1,2‐dimethylhydrazine dihydrochloride
The usefulness of mucin‐depleted foci (MDF) was histologically investigated in rat colonic tissues treated with 1,2‐dimethylhydrazine dihydrochloride (DMH) and it was suggested that MDF may be useful as an early biomarker in colon carcinogenesis.
Inhibitory effects of crude alpha-mangostin, a xanthone derivative, on two different categories of colon preneoplastic lesions induced by 1, 2-dimethylhydrazine in the rat.
The finding that crude alpha-mangostin has potent chemopreventive effects in the authors' short-term colon carcinogenesis bioassay system suggests that longer exposure might result in suppression of tumor development.
Regulation by heat shock protein 22 (HSPB8) of transforming growth factor-α-induced ovary cancer cell migration.
The results strongly suggest that HSP22 acts as a positive regulator in TGF-α-induced migration of ovarian cancer cells, subsequently directing ovarian cancer toward progression.
Vasopressin phosphorylates HSP27 in aortic smooth muscle cells
Results strongly suggest that AVP phosphorylates HSP27 via p38 MAP kinase in aortic smooth muscle cells.
Colon Preneoplastic Lesions in Animal Models
Based on topographical, histopathological, and biological features of colon cancer preneoplastic lesions in the animal model, the character and implications of these lesions are summarized and discussed.
First trial of cervical cytology in healthy women of urban Laos using by self-sampling instrument.
This first trial for PAP test for healthy Laos women related to a hospital found three percent to have abnormal cervical epithelial cells, which suggests that it should be planned for cervical cancer prevention in Laos.
Evaluation for clinical utility of GPC3, measured by a commercially available ELISA kit with Glypican‐3 (GPC3) antibody, as a serological and histological marker for hepatocellular carcinoma
Aims:  We evaluated the clinical utility of glypican‐3 (GPC3), which has been proposed as a potential novel tumor marker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), as a serological and histological marker
Acyclic retinoid activates retinoic acid receptor beta and induces transcriptional activation of p21(CIP1) in HepG2 human hepatoma cells.
The results suggest that this agent may be useful in the chemoprevention and therapy of hepatoma and possibly other human malignancies, and that both RARbeta and p21(CIP1) play critical roles in the molecular mechanisms of growth inhibition induced by ACR.
An animal model for the rapid induction of tongue neoplasms in human c-Ha-ras proto-oncogene transgenic rats by 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide: its potential use for preclinical chemoprevention studies.
Results may indicate that the 4-NQO-induced Tg rat tongue carcinogenesis model simulates many aspects of human oral carcinogenesis and it can be applied for an analysis of oral cancer development while also helping to identify potentially effective cancer chemopreventive agents against oral cancer.
