It is shown that repeated intranasal administration of short proline-containing peptides to rats with hyperglycemia of different etiology led to the combined normoglycemic and anticoagulant effects in the blood plasma.
Kinetics of semax penetration into the brain and blood of rats after its intranasal administration
The radioactive petide analogue Semax corresponding to the ACTH(4–10) sequence with a specific radioactivity of 56 Ci/mmol labeled with tritium at the C-terminal Pro was prepared and undergoes rapid enzymatic degradation, with the tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro prevailing in biological samples relative to the total content of Semax and its metabolites.
A New Generation of Drugs: Synthetic Peptides Based on Natural Regulatory Peptides
The results of research aimed at studying the influence of these peptides on the transcriptome of brain cells are presented, which were the bases for the creation of new drugs that are used effectively in the treatment of various diseases of the nervous system.
Protein kinase assay using tritiated peptide substrates and ferric adsorbent paper for phosphopeptide binding.
The modified protein kinase assay proposed herein is rapid and allows handling of multiple samples simultaneously and avoids the use of 32P-isotope, replacing it with 3H which has lower radiation energy and a much longer half-life.
Neurotrophin gene expression in rat brain under the action of Semax, an analogue of ACTH4–10
The effect of semax and the C-terminal peptide PGP on expression of growth factor genes and receptors in rats under conditions of experimental cerebral ischemia

The synthesized compounds suggest the possibility of a prolonged action of these biologically active compounds on the vital activity of cells and, consequently, of the whole organism.
Expression changes caused by the peptide semax in the intracellular signal pathway genes in rat hippocamp
The teams from the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Moscow State University created the peptide Met–Glu– His–Phe–Pro–Gly–Pro, which was named semax, which has been shown that semax enhances the survival of brain cells during hypoxia and increases the selective attention and memory trace consolidation.
Peptide Selank Enhances the Effect of Diazepam in Reducing Anxiety in Unpredictable Chronic Mild Stress Conditions in Rats
The data suggest that the presence of Selank may change the action of classical benzodiazepine drugs, and that the combination of diazepam with Selank was the most effective in reducing anxiety in unpredictable chronic mild stress conditions.
