This study showed that endophytic B. bassiana can provide multiple benefits to Zea mays and can play an important role in future integrated pest management programs.
Virulence and enzymatic activity of three new isolates of Beauveria bassiana (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) from the South American locust Schistocerca cancellata (Orthoptera: Acrididae)
This work analyzed under laboratory conditions the effectiveness of three fungal strains of Beauveria bassiana isolated from S. cancellata and the relationship between chitinase, protease, and lipase levels at different temperatures of these fungi and their insecticidal activities and found that isolate LPSc 1227 caused the highest mortality.
Effects of endophytic Beauveria bassiana (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) on biological, reproductive parameters and food preference of the soybean pest Helicoverpa gelotopoeon
Enzymatic activity and virulence of Cordyceps locustiphila (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae) on the South American locust Schistocerca cancellata (Orthoptera: Acrididae)
Colonzation of Tobacco Plants by Fungal Entomopathogens and the Effect on Consumption over Diabrotica speciosa (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)

The results indicate that B. bassiana LPSc 1215 constitutes a strain that would merit further investigation for the purpose of pest management in tobacco cultivation, and the results indicated that D. speciosa fed indiscriminately on colonized and non-colonized leaves.
Mycobiota on exoskeleton debris of Neohelice granulata in an alkaline-sodic salt marsh: in vitro enzyme ability at different temperatures and pH.
- N. Ferreri, L. A. Elíades, M. Saparrat, Tamara M Ledesma, Leticia Russo, M. Cabello
- MedicineAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciencias
Exoskeletons of the N. granulata are a source of fungi able to produce enzyme activities that show differences upon incubation conditions to which they are cultivated such as ones including specific temperatures and pH values.
