In this paper, we mathematically discuss the sensor arrangements for decorrelating diffuse noise on channels without the knowledge of the coherence function, denoted as blind decorrelation, which is useful for estimating target power spectrum and designing a post filter. As a necessary condition, we show that a set of distances from the sensor i to others(More)
This paper proposes a novel F0 contour estimation algorithm based on a precise parametric description of the voiced parts of speech derived from the power spectrum. The algorithm is able to perform in a wide variety of noisy environments as well as to estimate the F0s of cochannel concurrent speech. The speech spectrum is modeled as a(More)
In an attempt to clarify the pathobiology of intracranial germ-cell tumors, we studied 56 patients with these tumors, both clinically and pathologically. Our evaluations included immunochemical, immunohistochemical, and electron microscopic observations. Thirty tumors originated in the pineal region, ten in the suprasellar region, nine in the basal ganglia,(More)
The clinical and neuro-endocrinological aspects of 17 suprasellar germinoma patients treated between 1972–1991 are reported. Surgical extirpation was not initially attempted, but all patients received irradiation with or without a biopsy. Sixteen of those have led useful lives with appropriate hormonal replacement therapy during a mean follow up of 8 years.(More)
A mixed glioma and sarcoma in a 3-month-old infant is presented as a rare case of gliosarcoma with a good response to treatment. This congenital case is quite different from those in adults: the tumor cells were mainly composed of sarcomatous elements; glial components were not anaplastic without obvious endothelial hyperplasia, but presented as(More)
This paper discusses a new approach for clustering sequences of bar-long percussive and bass-line patterns in audio music collections and its application to genre classification. Many musical genres and styles are characterized by two kinds of distinct representative patterns, i.e., percussive patterns and bass-line patterns. So far, in most automatic genre(More)
The prognosis of recurrent IV-ventricle ependymoma in children is poor. Three cases of recurrent ependymoma were treated with combination chemotherapy usingcis-diamine dichloro platinum (II) (CDDP) and methyl-6-(3-(2-chloroethyl)-3-nitrosoureido)-6-deoxy-α-d-glucopyranoside (MCNU). The patients were 2-, 3-, and 6-year-old boys. The interval between the(More)
The histological diagnosis and proliferative potential measured by bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) labelling index (LI) were corelated with preoperative CT and contrast-enhanced, MRI, 18F-flurodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (PET) and 201T1 single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in 43 patients with various grades of glioma. 201T1 SPECT had(More)
Intraparenchymal hemorrhage in the left frontal lobe suddenly occurred in a 7-year-old girl who had undergone partial removal of an undifferentiated brain stem glioma and received craniospinal (30 Gy) and posterior fossa booster (20 Gy) irradiation at the age of 20 months. The brain hemorrhage was thought to be delayed irradiation effect. Follow-up(More)
Twenty-four adults with glioblastoma multiforme (astrocytoma, grade 4) underwent postoperative large dose fraction radiotherapy (LDFR; 5 Gy twice weekly) with Linac X-rays. The outcome in this group was compared with that of 26 patients who received conventional fractionated radiotherapy (CFR; 2 Gy 5 times weekly). The time, dose, and fractionation (TDF)(More)
