— The majority carrier domain of power semiconductor devices has been extended to 10 kV with the advent of SiC MOSFETs and Schottky diodes. The devices exhibit excellent static and dynamic properties with encouraging preliminary reliability. Twenty-four MOSFETs and twelve Schottky diodes have been assembled in a 10 kV half H-bridge power module to increase(More)
Acute appendicitis is a common emergency encountered by general surgeons and is managed effectively by timely appendicectomy. Open appendicectomy is usually the first abdominal operation which a surgical resident learns during his training. In this study, 912 appendicectomies were performed on clinical suspicion of acute appendicitis during the period of 6(More)
The first enantioselective total syntheses of architecturally interesting prenylated pyrroloindole alkaloids, (-)-pseudophrynamines 272A (3d) and 270 (3b), have been achieved starting from enantioenriched 2-oxindoles having all-carbon quaternary stereocenters. A common strategy involving a thio-urea catalyzed aldol reaction is employed for the total(More)
Gianotti-Crosti syndrome is parainfectious exanthematous disease having unique presentation of small papulovesicular eruptions symmetrically over extensor surface of limbs and face in children. Hemorrhagic lesions are very rare and are always localized. Here, a case of EBV-induced Gianotti-Crosti syndrome with extensive hemorrhagic vesicles in a one and(More)
A random study for management of wound by cyanoacrylate glue in 213 patients, irrespective of age and sex with different types of wounds was carried out over a period of 4 years (1996-2000). In this series both dean surgical wounds and infected accidental wounds were included. Most of the patients recovered uneventfully, except 5, who showed wound gap.(More)
In the present study 105 patients underwent appendicectomy by lateralised transverse cosmetic incision over a period from January, 2005 to September, 2007. Six patients developed complications like wound infection and fever. Wound infection was managed with antibiotics, postoperative pain with simple analgesics like tramadol hydrochloride and paracetamol.(More)
An organocatalytic enantioselective aldol reaction using paraformaldehyde as C1-unit has been developed for the synthesis of 2-oxindoles sharing vicinal all-carbon quaternary stereocenters. The methodology is eventually employed in the formal total synthesis of (+)-folicanthine (1b).
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) occurs at a younger age in Indians with over 50% of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) mortality occurring in individuals aged less than 50 years. Although several risk factors have been suggested; smoking, dyslipidemia and hypertension are major risk factors in the young. In this review, we have pooled the current evidence on(More)
