Marine planktonic copepods are an ecologically important group with high species richness and abundance. Here, we propose a new metagenetic approach for revealing the community structure of marine planktonic copepods using 454 pyrosequencing of nuclear large subunit ribosomal DNA. We determined an appropriate similarity threshold for clustering(More)
Enormous quantities of radionuclides were released into the ocean via both atmospheric deposition and direct release as a result of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FNPP) accident. This study discusses the southward dispersion of FNPP-derived radioactive cesium (Cs) in subsurface waters. The southernmost point where we found the FNPP-derived(More)
A method for the magnification of x-ray radiographic images is described and demonstrated. This magnifier employs two successive asymmetric diffractions of an x-ray beam from highly perfect silicon crystals. The two diffractions magnify the beam in two perpendicular directions. A device with a magnification of 25x is demonstrated for Cu K(alpha) radiation.(More)
High energy and high power negative ion sources and accelerators have been developed for neutral beam (NB) injectors of future fusion machines such as International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). Using a 5-stage electrostatic accelerator, negative ion beam has been successfully accelerated up to the energy of 1 MeV, which is the required energy(More)
