The paper proposes a method of the CO2 transfer intensity analysis in membrane oxygenators of the "MOCT" type. The dependence of the CO2 elimination rate on the liquid flow and oxygen blow-down rates for various oxygenators have been studied on a closed loop circuit. It has been established that the elimination rate depends not only on the transfer through… (More)
Transient responses of flow-type ion-selective electrodes (ISE) with membranes of different shape and divers caps for flat membranes are studied. The stream of samples is shown to influence the response time of flow-type ISEs. The optimum structure of ISE-based meters is proposed.
Small-flow membranous oxygenation of the blood was used in 45 patients with peritonitis in the multiple organ failure phase. In ten cases blood oxygenation was combined with hemofiltration. MOCT 19-03 (Kvant Research and Production Unit) and Gambro FH hemofilters (Sweden) were employed. Combination of small-flow membranous oxygenation of the blood combined… (More)
Low-flow membrane oxygenation of donor blood stored for 3 days significantly increases the number of T cells (total and active populations) and stimulates the enzyme activity of neutrophils. Clinical trials (a purulent-septic abdominal disorder) show that membrane oxygenation of autologous blood is promising for the treatment of secondary immunodeficiency.
A relationship between the carbon dioxide output of the oxygenators and the value of ventilating gas flow is analyzed. It is shown that a potential inhomogeneity of gas channels may result from the lower efficiency of the oxygenators. The tests of the MOST oxygenators have indicated that the achieved homogeneity of their gas chambers is sufficient for… (More)
