Acyl-CoA thioesterases (ACOTs) are a group of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of fatty acyl-CoAs to free fatty acids and CoA, with the potential to regulate the intracellular levels of these molecules. In this study, we show that a cytosolic isoform, ACOT7, is expressed at a significant level in the mesenteric lymph nodes (MLNs) of mice. While crude… (More)
Initiation and localization of the capacity of self-differentiation in the 1-2 day old chick embryo were studied by means of culturing endoderm fragments, wrapped in a piece of viteline membrane and completely deprived of mesenchyme.
An immunohistological study demonstrated that glucagon first appears in the dorsal pancreatic endoderm of the chick embryo at stage 16 of Hamburger and Hamilton during normal development. It was also shown that the self-differentiation potency of the isolated dorsal endoderm to express glucagon in vitro in the absence of adjoining tissues appears at stage… (More)
