Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an age-related, progressive degenerative disorder that is characterized by synapse and neuron loss in the brain and the accumulation of protein-containing deposits (referred to as 'senile plaques') and neurofibrillary tangles. Insoluble amyloid beta-peptide (Abeta) fibrillar aggregates found in extracellular plaques have long… (More)
We employed a urease-catalyzed reaction to gradually remove a high concentration of a chaotropic agent (urea) from a denatured protein solution and demonstrated that efficient protein refolding can be achieved by the urease-catalyzed reaction, without large-volume dilution.
templated nucleophilic aromatic substitution reactions for fluorogenic sensing of oligonucleotides " , of unpurified PCR products by sandwich-type affinity electrophoresis on a microchip with programmed autonomous solution filling " , Lab Chip, Phosphate-affinity electrophoresis on a microchip for determination of protein kinase activity " , Easy design of… (More)
To estimate the relative significance of exogenous vs. endogenous fatty acids in increasing hepatic triacylglycerol secretion following an inhibition of fatty acid oxidation by emeriamine, livers from 2-d-fasting rats were perfused with or without an inhibitor in the presence of a geometrical isomer of linoleate (linolelaidic acid,… (More)
