A soluble nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDP kinase) was purified and characterized in epimastigote forms of Trypanosoma cruzi. The enzyme was purified by affinity chromatography on Blue-agarose and Q-Sepharose columns and by FPLC on a Superose 12 column. A membrane-associated NDP kinase was identified which accounts for 30% of total enzymatic activity.(More)
Human dental pulp cells were cultured in fluoridated mediums (0, 1, 10, 25 ppm) in order to study the biological effect of the ion regarding the cellular metabolism: cell growth, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, and protein synthesis. The results indicated a decrease of the cell growth at 25 ppm and a dose-dependent decrease of the ALP activity. Type I(More)
Eukaryotic genomes contain euchromatic regions, which are transcriptionally active, and heterochromatic regions, which are repressed. These domains are separated by "barrier elements": DNA sequences that protect euchromatic regions from encroachment by neighboring heterochromatin. To identify proteins that play a role in the function of barrier elements we(More)
