Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is the causative agent of infectious bursal disease in chickens and causes a significant economic loss for the poultry industry. Little is understood about the mechanism involved in the host responses to IBDV infection. For better understanding the IBDV-host interaction, we measured steady-state levels of transcripts(More)
The complete genome sequence of a Chinese very virulent infectious bursal disease virus (vvIBDV) strain, Harbin-1, was determined. Based on the sequence analysis, the molecular characteristics and potential virulence determinants and origin of vvIBDV strains were identified. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that a reassortment and/or recombination event may(More)
A series of CAPE derivatives with mono-substituted phenylethanols moiety were synthesized and evaluated by MTT assay on growth of 4 human cancer cell lines (Hela, DU-145, MCF-7 and ECA-109). The substituent effects on the antiproliferative activity were systematically investigated for the first time. It was found that electron-donating and hydrophobic(More)
A family of quinoxaline-2,3-diones was prepared and evaluated to exhibit d-amino acid oxidase (DAAO) inhibitory activities with IC50 values ranging from 0.6 to 15 μM in vitro. SAR analysis revealed their binding modes with DAAO and provided an important clue for further design of highly potent DAAO inhibitors with novel structures.
The gene coding for a Trichosanthes trypsin inhibitor analog (Ala-6-TTI) in which methionine at position 6 was replaced by alanine was synthesized chemically. The synthetic gene was cloned into plasmid pWR590-1 and expressed in Escherichia coli as a fusion protein composed of beta-galactosidase fragment of 590 amino acid residues and (Ala-6)-TTI, with(More)
A system including RNA isolation, primers and two novel oligonucleotide probes (NC22 and VC22) was established to rapidly pathotype Newcastle disease virus (NDV) from infected allantoic fluid; The sequence of the probes is: VC22, 5′-AAGGAGGCAGAAACGCTTTATA-3′; NC22, 5′-GGGGAGACAGG GGCGCCTTATA-3′. Application efficacy of the probes was verified by(More)
Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) can cause disease in chickens characterized by immunosuppression and high mortality. Currently, real-time RT-PCR has been used to quantitate virus-specific RNA and to better understand host response to infection. However, normalization of quantitative real-time RT-PCR is needed to a suitable internal control. We thus(More)
