Clinical and pathological characteristics of Chinese patients with BRCA related breast cancer
BRCA-related breast cancer in this Chinese population is associated with family history and adverse pathological/prognostic features, with BRCA2 mutations being more prevalent but BRCa1 carriers having more aggressive and TN cancers.
The ‘other half’ of breast cancer: A review of male breast cancer
A BRCA2 founder mutation and seven novel deleterious BRCA mutations in southern Chinese women with breast and ovarian cancer
Between March 2007 and February 2008, patients with breast and/or ovarian cancer were recruited from the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry, which was formed in March 2007, and a total of 119 high-risk female probands were recruited.
Biological profile of oestrogen receptor positive primary breast cancers in the elderly and response to primary endocrine therapy.
Primary endocrine therapy with anastrozole for early operable primary breast cancer in the elderly: Early clinical and biological data.
Early clinical data has shown excellent efficacy and tolerability of anastrozole as primary endocrine therapy for early operable PBC in the elderly and there was a trend towards a better quality of response (more ORs) for PgR positive/ HER2 negative tumors.
O-33 Is the difference between tamoxifen and anastrozole in adjuvant trials applicable for primary endocrine therapy of early operable primary breast cancer in the elderly?
Title Clinical and pathological characteristics of Chinese patients withBRCA related breast cancer
The clinical and pathological characteristics of breast cancer in Chinese women with and without BRCA mutations and of carriers of BRC a1 mutations compared to BRCa2 mutations are reported.
Biological characteristics of oestrogen receptor positive early operable primary breast cancer in the elderly.
Clinical follow-up is ongoing to elucidate the relationship between endocrine sensitivity and these biological characteristics, which may be important in therapeutic strategies such as selecting endocrine agents as primary, neoadjuvant or adjuvant therapy.
Anastrozole compared to tamoxifen as primary endocrine therapy for early operable primary breast cancer in the elderly
The optimal management of operable primary breast cancer in elderly is controversial and a high proportion of elderly patients refuse or are unfit for surgery.

Primary endocrine therapy with anastrozole in elderly patients with early operable ERα+ breast cancer is similar to tamoxifen in terms of efficacy, but may be better tolerated and appears to have a less aggressive biological profile favouring better hormone sensitivity.
