Ectoparasites of dogs and cats in Albania
TLDR
One hundred eighty-one dogs and 26 short-hair cats from suburban areas around Tirana, Albania were examined for ectoparasite infestation and found that prevalence of infestation with C. canis was significantly (p < 0.01) higher in dogs >6 months old; however, there was no difference between the sexes for the prevalences ofinfestation with those parasites.

Seasonal prevalence and intensity of gastrointestinal parasites were studied through a longitudinal survey in 400 horses over a 17-month period in an abattoir in Germany and almost alike in male and female horses were almost alike, but ascarids were significantly more often recorded in male than in female horses.

From 2004 to 2009, the digestive tracts of 111 dogs from suburban areas around Tirana, Albania, were examined for intestinal helminths and there was no indication for lungworm infection; however, two adult heartworms were found in the right ventricle of one dog.

Characterisation of ecto- and endoparasites in domestic cats from Tirana, Albania
TLDR
The prevalence of infestation with ectoparasites did not differ between the cats of these two age groups, but cats ≤9 months of age were more frequently tested for Toxocara and Cystoisospora infections than cats >9  Months while these cats tested more often (p’< 0.05) Aelurostrongylus-positive compared with the younger cats.

Parasites and vector-borne diseases in client-owned dogs in Albania. Intestinal and pulmonary endoparasite infections

Fecal examination indicated the occurrence of Hammondia/Neospora-like, Angiostrongylus lungworm, capillariid, and Linguatula infections for the first time for dogs in Albania, and dogs >1 year of age had a significantly lower risk compared with ≤1  year old dogs, dogs not dewormed, or dogs tested during winter.
