Acetylation of C/EBPα inhibits its granulopoietic function
It is demonstrated that acetylation of C/EBPα at lysine residues K298 and K302, mediated at least in part by general control non-derepressible 5 (GCN5), impairs C/ EBPα DNA-binding ability and modulates C-CSF-mediated granulocytic differentiation and transcriptional activity. Expand
New keys for old locks: carborane-containing drugs as platforms for mechanism-based therapies.
Icosahedral carboranes in medicine are still an emerging class of compounds with potential beneficial applications in drug design and are potential "new keys for old locks" which open up an exciting field of research for well-known, but challenging important therapeutic substrates. Expand
Cathepsin S Alterations Induce a Tumor-Promoting Immune Microenvironment in Follicular Lymphoma.
Clinically, patients with CTSS-hyperactive FL had better treatment outcomes with standard immunochemotherapies, indicating that these immunosuppressive regimens target both the lymphoma cells and the tumor-promoting immune microenvironment. Expand
Conjugation of Cisplatin Analogues and Cyclooxygenase Inhibitors to Overcome Cisplatin Resistance
These conjugates are important tools for the elucidation of the direct influence of COX inhibitors on platinum‐based anticancer drugs in tumor cells and seem to facilitate cellular accumulation of the platinum drugs and thus improve the efficacy of the antitumor agents. Expand
Syntheses, structures and luminescence properties of novel metal–organic frameworks based on zinc(II), cadmium(II) or lead(II) and a 2,2′-dimethoxy-functionalised biphenyl linker
Three metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) based on zinc(II) (1), cadmium(II) (2) or lead(II) (3) and the functionalised biphenyl linker biphenyl-2,2′-dimethoxy-4,4′-dicarboxylate,Expand
Group 6 metal carbonyl complexes of cyclo-(P5Ph5)
Abstract Group 6 metal (Cr, Mo, W) carbonyl complexes react with cyclo-(P5Ph5) to afford the phosphorus-rich complexes [Cr(CO)5{cyclo-(P5Ph5)-κP1}] (1), [{Cr(CO)5}2{μ-cyclo-(P5Ph5)-κP1,P3}] (2),Expand
C2-Symmetric P,N Ligands Derived from Carborane-Based Diphosphetanes: Synthesis and Coordination Chemistry.
NMR spectroscopic and theoretical studies revealed a two-step mechanism explaining the high stereoselectivity of these reactions between a carborane-based diphosphetane and diaryl dichalogenides. Expand
nido‐Dicarbaborate Induces Potent and Selective Inhibition of Cyclooxygenase‐2
It is demonstrated that deboronation of the cluster may not only lead to a more active analogue, but can also improve the solubility and stability of a carbaborane‐containing inhibitor. Expand
Asymmetric phospha-Diels-Alder reaction: a stereoselective approach towards P-chiral phosphanes through diastereotopic face differentiation.
Old principles, new chemistry: a facile stereoselective synthesis of P-chiral phosphanes is described in which the principle of enantiotopic and diastereotopic face differentiation is extended to a phosphorus atom in a planar environment, that is, 2H-phospholes. Expand
