Synalpheus shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda: Alpheidae). I. The Gambarelloides group, with a description of a new species
- M. R. Dardeau
Distributional data, diagnoses, and references to each of the 19 species of the Gambarelloides group from the Western Atlantic Region are presented in this report.
Colony morphology, age structure, and relative growth of two gorgonian corals, Leptogorgia hebes (Verrill) and Leptogorgia virgulata (Lamarck), from the northerm Gulf of Mexico
Although age structure of the populations differed between shelf sites, neither colony growth rates, estimated from direct measurements of ring widths plotted on Walford graphs, nor overall branching complexity, determined from bifurcation ratios (Rb), differed between the shelf populations.

Scientific diving safety may be facilitated by a combination of relatively high levels of training and oversight, the predominance of shallow, no-decompression diving and, possibly, low pressure to complete dives under less than optimal circumstances.

A new species of Pontophilus (Crustacea: Natantia: Crangonidae) from the Gulf of Mexico and the western Atlantic
- M. R. Dardeau
Examination of specimens collected during "Project Hourglass," a biological sampling program on the continental shelf off central western Florida, revealed that a fourth species of Pontophilus, described herein, occurs in the Gulf of Mexico.
