Natural History of Supratentorial Hemangioblastomas in von Hippel‐Lindau Disease
A study of the natural history of supratentorial hemangioblastomas in von Hippel-Lindau disease illustrates the wide variation in tumor locations, patterns of growth, and edema progression seen and adds to the knowledge of thenatural history of hemangioedema progression.
Prolonged response without prolonged chemotherapy: a lesson from PCV chemotherapy in low-grade gliomas.
The results challenge the idea that a prolonged duration of chemotherapy is necessary for treating LGGs and raise the issue of understanding the mechanisms involved in the persistent tumor volume decrease once chemotherapy is terminated.
Portrait of Ependymoma Recurrence in Children: Biomarkers of Tumor Progression Identified by Dual-Color Microarray-Based Gene Expression Analysis
The most frequent molecular events associated with ependymoma recurrence were over-expression of kinetochore proteins and down-regulation of metallothioneins.
Quantitative morphological magnetic resonance imaging follow-up of low-grade glioma: a plea for systematic measurement of growth rates.
It is shown, that during their low-grade period, these tumors exhibit systematically a spontaneous and continuous radiological growth, whatever their histological subtypes, which carries a strong prognostic significance regarding progression-free and overall survivals.
Neuronal differentiation distinguishes supratentorial and infratentorial childhood ependymomas.
The results support the distinction of SE and IE, which are characterized by neuronal differentiation, which seems to be associated with better prognosis and strong NEFL expression in SE was correlated with better progression-free survival.
Cytoplasmic overexpression of RNA‐binding protein HuR is a marker of poor prognosis in meningioma, and HuR knockdown decreases meningioma cell growth and resistance to hypoxia

It is concluded that cytoplasmic HuR expression is a marker of poor prognosis in meningioma and that HuR is a promising potential therapeutic target for use in tumours refractory to standard therapies.
Current treatment options for meningioma
The most problematic cases include skull base meningiomas that enclose vasculo-nervous structures and surgery- and radiation-refractory tumors that present with significant morbidity and mortality.
Management and outcome of primary CNS lymphoma in the modern era
The study confirms the increasing proportion of elderly within the PCNSL population and shows comparable outcome in this population-based study with those reported by clinical trials, reflecting a notable application of recent PC NSL advances in treatment.
SMO mutation status defines a distinct and frequent molecular subgroup in olfactory groove meningiomas
- J. Boetto, F. Bielle, M. Sanson, M. Peyre, M. Kalamarides
- Biology, MedicineNeuro-oncology
- 1 March 2017
Molecular diagnosis of SMOL412F/W535L and AKT1E17K mutations improves prognostic evaluation in olfactory groove meningiomas and opens new therapeutic perspectives with SMO or AKT inhibitors for recurrent cases.
Conservative management of bilateral vestibular schwannomas in neurofibromatosis type 2 patients: hearing and tumor growth results.
This study illustrates the high variability among neurofibromatosis type 2 patients regarding hearing status and VS growth rate and justifies the choice of initial conservative management in selected cases.
