- S. Sarkisova, M. Patrauchan, D. Berglund, D. Nivens, M. Franklin
- BiologyJournal of Bacteriology
- 1 July 2005
It is demonstrated that calcium addition affects the structure and extracellular matrix composition of mucoid P. aeruginosa biofilms, through increased expression and stability of bacterial extrace cellular products.
Catabolism of Benzoate and Phthalate in Rhodococcus sp. Strain RHA1: Redundancies and Convergence
- M. Patrauchan, C. Florizone, M. Dosanjh, W. Mohn, J. Davies, L. Eltis
- BiologyJournal of Bacteriology
- 15 June 2005
Analysis of completed bacterial genomes indicates that the convergent beta-ketoadipate pathway and some aspects of its genetic organization are characteristic of rhodococci and related actinomycetes.
Genetic and Genomic Insights into the Role of Benzoate-Catabolic Pathway Redundancy in Burkholderia xenovorans LB400
- V. Denef, J. Klappenbach, J. Tiedje
- BiologyApplied and Environmental Microbiology
- 1 January 2006
An extensive sigmaE-regulated oxidative stress response not present in wild-type LB400 grown on benzoate was detected in these deletion mutants, supporting the earlier suggestion that the box pathways are preferentially active under reduced oxygen tension.

Degradation of benzyldimethylalkylammonium chloride by Aeromonas hydrophila sp. K.
- M. Patrauchan, P. Oriel
- Chemistry, BiologyJournal of Applied Microbiology
- 1 February 2003
These findings are significant for understanding biodegradation pathways of benzyl-containing quaternary ammonium compounds and proposed degradation pathway for BAC and related compounds.
Calcium influences cellular and extracellular product formation during biofilm-associated growth of a marine Pseudoalteromonas sp.
- M. Patrauchan, S. Sarkisova, K. Sauer, M. Franklin
- BiologyMicrobiology
- 1 September 2005
Results indicate that Ca(2+) causes global changes in matrix material, as well as in cellular and extracellular protein profiles of Pseudoalteromonas sp.
Phenylacetate Catabolism in Rhodococcus sp. Strain RHA1: a Central Pathway for Degradation of Aromatic Compounds
- J. Navarro-Llorens, M. Patrauchan, G. Stewart, J. Davies, L. Eltis, W. Mohn
- BiologyJournal of Bacteriology
- 1 July 2005
The results suggest that the range of substrates degraded via the PAA pathway in RHA1 is somewhat limited relative to the range in previously characterized gram-negative bacteria.
Growth Substrate- and Phase-Specific Expression of Biphenyl, Benzoate, and C1 Metabolic Pathways in Burkholderia xenovorans LB400
- V. Denef, M. Patrauchan, L. Eltis
- BiologyJournal of Bacteriology
- 1 December 2005
Insight is provided into the physiological roles and integration of apparently redundant catabolic pathways in large-genome bacteria and establishes a basis for investigating the PCB-degrading abilities of this strain.
Calcium homeostasis in Pseudomonas aeruginosa requires multiple transporters and modulates swarming motility.

AnhE, a Metallochaperone Involved in the Maturation of a Cobalt-dependent Nitrile Hydratase*
- Sachi Okamoto, F. van Petegem, M. Patrauchan, L. Eltis
- Chemistry, BiologyJournal of Biological Chemistry
- 17 June 2010
The data support a model in which AnhE acts as a dimeric metallochaperone to deliver cobalt to ANHase, and provides insight into the maturation of NHases and metallchaperone function.
