High Prevalence of Vitamin D Deficiency in Zahedan, Southeast Iran

It is indicated that vitamin D deficiency is common in the population of Zahedan, a sunny area in southeast Iran and fortification of milk and the use of supplements is suggested in this region.

The data suggest for the first time a significant association between vaspin rs2236242 and chemerin rs17173608 polymorphisms and the MeS in Zahedan, southeast Iran.
Association between polymorphisms of glutathione S-transferase genes (GSTM1, GSTP1 and GSTT1) and breast cancer risk in a sample Iranian population.
It is found that GSTM1 and GSTP1, but not GSTT1 genetic polymorphisms are associated with increased risk of breast cancer in the authors' population.
