Somatic alterations of the DPC4 gene in human colorectal cancers in vivo.
- Y. Takagi, H. Kohmura, S. Saji
- Biology, MedicineGastroenterology
- 1 November 1996
While allelic loss at 18q21 is very often seen in colorectal cancers, only a minority show DPC4 mutations, suggesting that there might be another tumor-suppressor gene in this chromosome region.
Cloning and characterization of BAI-associated protein 1: a PDZ domain-containing protein that interacts with BAI1.
- T. Shiratsuchi, M. Futamura, K. Oda, H. Nishimori, Y. Nakamura, T. Tokino
- BiologyBiochemical and Biophysical Research…
- 29 June 1998
The results suggest that BAI1 and BAP1 might be involved in cell adhesion and signal transduction in brain.
Centrosomal Kinases, HsAIRK1 and HsAIRK3, are Overexpressed in Primary Colorectal Cancers
- Takao Takahashi, M. Futamura, S. Saji
- BiologyJapanese journal of cancer research : Gann
- 1 October 2000
Interestingly, HsAIRK1 overexpression was significantly associated with pT (primary tumor invasion) and p53 accumulation in colorectal cancers and there was no significant correlation between proliferating cell nuclear antigen‐labeling index (PCNA‐LI) and the levels of these proteins.
Significant detection of circulating cancer cells in the blood by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction during colorectal cancer resection.
- K. Yamaguchi, Y. Takagi, S. Aoki, M. Futamura, S. Saji
- Medicine, BiologyAnnals of Surgery
- 1 July 2000
Molecular detection in the peripheral blood at surgery suggests that hematogenic tumor cell dissemination is a common and early event and that surgical manipulation enhances this release of tumor cells into the circulation.
Mieap, a p53-Inducible Protein, Controls Mitochondrial Quality by Repairing or Eliminating Unhealthy Mitochondria
- N. Kitamura, Yasuyuki Nakamura, H. Arakawa
- BiologyPLoS ONE
- 17 January 2011
The results suggest that mitochondrial ROS and NIX are essential factors for MALM, MIV is a novel mechanism for lysosomal degradation of mitochondria, and the p53-Mieap pathway plays a pivotal role in MQC by repairing or eliminating unhealthy mitochondria via MALm or MIV generation, respectively.
The potential role of DFNA5, a hearing impairment gene, in p53-mediated cellular response to DNA damage
- Y. Masuda, M. Futamura, H. Arakawa
- BiologyJournal of Human Genetics
- 1 August 2006
The results suggest that DFNA5 plays a role in the p53-regulated cellular response to genotoxic stress probably by cooperating with p53, and may be responsible for autosomal-dominant, nonsyndromic hearing impairment.
Nuclear localization of LDL receptor-related protein 1B in mammary gland carcinogenesis
- Y. Asano, T. Takeuchi, Kazuhiro Yoshida
- BiologyJournal of molecular medicine
- 3 January 2019
Comprehensive microarray-based analysis demonstrated that nuclear expression of LRP1B intracellular domain significantly increased long non-coding RNA nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) expression, which facilitates breast cancer invasion with poor prognosis.
MiR‐133b inhibits growth of human gastric cancer cells by silencing pyruvate kinase muscle‐splicer polypyrimidine tract‐binding protein 1
- Taro Sugiyama, Kohei Taniguchi, Kazuhiro Yoshida
- Biology, ChemistryCancer Science
- 1 December 2016
Findings indicated that miR‐133b acted as a tumor‐suppressor through negative regulation of the Warburg effect in gastric cancer cells.
Somatic alterations of the SMAD-2 gene in human colorectal cancers.
- Y. Takagi, H. Koumura, S. Saji
- BiologyBritish Journal of Cancer
- 1 November 1998
The SMAD-2 gene may play a role as a candidate tumour-suppressor gene in a small fraction of colorectal cancers, however, allelic loss at 18q21 is very often seen in this type of tumour, and the observed frequency was not sufficient to account for all 18Q21 deletions in coloreCTal cancers.
Possible Existence of Lysosome-Like Organella within Mitochondria and Its Role in Mitochondrial Quality Control
- Y. Miyamoto, N. Kitamura, H. Arakawa
- BiologyPLoS ONE
- 17 January 2011
Mieap, a novel p53-inducible protein, induces intramitochondrial lysosome-like organella that plays a critical role in mitochondrial quality control by eliminating oxidized mitochondrial proteins.
