Metastasis of uveal melanoma millimeter-by-millimeter in 8033 consecutive eyes.
Increasing millimeter thickness of uveal melanoma is associated with increasing risk for metastasis, and clinical factors predictive of metastasis by multivariate analysis included increasing patient age, ciliary body location, increase tumor diameter, increasing tumor thickness, having a brown tumor, and the presence of subretinal fluid, intraocular hemorrhage, or extraocular extension. Choroidal nevus transformation into melanoma: analysis of 2514 consecutive cases.
In an analysis of 2514 choroidal nevi, factors predictive of growth into melanoma included greater thickness, subretinal fluid, symptoms, orange pigment, margin near disc, and 2 new features: ultrasonographic hollowness and absence of halo. Expand
[Measurement of orbital volume by computed tomography--especially on the growth of orbit].

The orbital volume showed no unbalance between the right and left at any stage of growth and both the height and the interlateral orbital rim distance had a strong correlation with the orbital volume. Expand
Correlation between ocular motility and evaluation of computed tomography in orbital blowout fracture.
The clinical manifestations and prognosis of patients were approximately predicted through the analysis of CT on fracture type and number of points of contact of an extraocular muscle to the fracture edge. Expand
Measurement of orbital volume by computed tomography: especially on the growth of the orbit.

A strong correlation with an almost identical approximate equation was obtained for both sexes until the age of 12, which means that more than 95% of the growth of the adult orbit has already been completed by the first half of the teens. Expand
CLINICAL SPECTRUM AND PROGNOSIS OF UVEAL MELANOMA BASED ON AGE AT PRESENTATION IN 8,033 CASES
Compared with mid adults and older adults, young and mid adults showed smaller melanoma basal dimension and lower tumor-related metastasis and death and concluded that young patients manifested a higher proportion of iris melanoma. Expand
Neovascular glaucoma from advanced Coats disease as the initial manifestation of facioscapulohumeral dystrophy in a 2-year-old child.
This work focuses on Kaposi’s sarcoma in HIV negative patients and the epidemiology of AIDS-related neoplasms, and the role of herpesvirus-like DNA sequences in AIDS-associated Kaposi's Sarcoma. Expand
Determinants of Hepcidin in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis: Role of Inflammation
The serum hepcidin level could be exclusively associated with ferritin in MHD patients and was independent of inflammatory cytokines, suggesting that uremic conditions do not affect the ratio. Expand
American Joint Committee on Cancer Classification of Uveal Melanoma (Anatomic Stage) Predicts Prognosis in 7,731 Patients: The 2013 Zimmerman Lecture.
The clinical features and prognosis of posterior uveal melanoma based on the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) (7th edition) tumor staging were analyzed, finding that the rate of metastasis/death was 3 times greater for stage II, 9 to 10 times greatest for stage III, and further great for stage IV. Both ocular adnexal and gastrointestinal EMZLs are derived from postgerminal center memory B cells, but the low ongoing mutation frequencies of ocularAdnexalEMZL may result from less antigen stimulation and follicular colonization in the orbit relative to gastrointestinal EMzL. Expand
